Senior Shea Tiley (Owen Sound, ONT) posted 23 saves and freshman right wing Elizabeth Giguere (Quebec City, QUE) scored twice to highlight the 4-0 win for Clarkson University at Cheel Arena on Friday night.

With one game remaining in the regular season, Clarkson stands in a first-place tie in the ECAC Hockey standings with Colgate, owning an 18-3 league mark. Ranked second in the country, the Golden Knights boast

a 28-4-1 overall record. Clarkson hosts Harvard on Saturday in the regular-season finale. A win over the Crimson would clinch at least a share of the regular-season title and give the Knights the #1 seed in the upcoming ECAC Hockey playoffs.

"Our first period was probably one of the better periods we have put together in a few games, which really helped with our energy and confidence," stated Head Coach Matt Desrosiers. "We worked on a few things this week in practice that we were hoping to bring into tonight's game and I thought we did just that. I thought our puck movement was much better, which helped with our breakouts and allowed us to play with more speed. We were also able to generate some good quality scoring chances in a lot of different ways which is always great to see. We also had a lot of players give a solid effort tonight helping to set a good example for the rest of the team on what we are going to need tomorrow against a tough Harvard team"

Clarkson controlled play from the start against Dartmouth (5-18-3, 3-15-3) and outshot the Big Green 46-23. Tiley made seven first-period saves, 11 more in the middle frame and closed out her 10th shutout of the season and 34th career whitewash with five stops over the final 20 minutes. Tiley, who also earned a shutout last Saturday at Quinnipiac (2-0), has not allowed a goal in the last 138:07 of play.

Holding a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes of play, Clarkson sealed the win with Giguere scoring twice in the third.

At 4:13, Giguere tapped in a centering pass from junior linemate junior Loren Gabel (Kitchener, ONT) for a power-play marker. The Knights' freshman sensation connected again on a shot from the top of the left circle for her 24th goal of the season after a faceoff win by sophomore Michaela Pejzlova (Pardubice, Czech Rep.), who recorded her third assist of the night.

Scores by a pair of sophomore Clarkson defensemen gave the Green and Gold a 2-0 first-period lead.

Ella Shelton (Ingersoll, ONT) started things off with her third goal of the season at 10:21 of the first period, knocking in a pass from the left boards by junior Rhyen McGill (Whitby, ONT). Tiley also assisted.

The Knights made it 2-0 at 14:38 when Taylor Turnquist (Blaine, MN) picked up a rebound in the slot off a shot by Gabel and drove home her second goal of the year. Pejzlova also assisted.

Clarkson was 1-3 on the power play and killed off all four of the Big Green's man-advantage markers.
