Castine, ME – The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team closed out its first season in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) falling to defending champion Maine Maritime Academy 3-0 (25-13, 25-23, 25-9) on Saturday afternoon.
The Mariners (22-6) jumped out to a 15-7 lead as they secured a 25-13 opening set victory. The Roos (14-13) held a 9-7 lead in the second set and led late, 20-18. The teams continued to exchange points down the stretch but the Mariners scored three straight to claim the 25-22 second set victory. MMA used its second set momentum to jump out to an 8-0 lead in the third set as they closed out the match in straight sets, 25-9.
Marissa Ixtlahuac led the Roos with eight kills hitting .333 (8-1-21), while Melissa McMaster added six kills. Peyton Robinson dished out 21 assists and tied a match-best with 12 digs. Jenna Roat also posted double digit digs with 11.
Peyton Robinson and Jenna Roat were named to the All-Tournament team for their performances throughout the NAC Tournament.

This concludes the 2018 season for the SUNY Canton women's volleyball team, while the Mariners earn the NAC's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.
