Buffalo, NY – Taylor Saltus scored a team-high 17 points and Billie Rivenburgh recorded her second career double-double but a big third quarter lifted host Villa Maria College to a 71-57 win v. the SUNY Canton women's basketball team on Wednesday evening.

Saltus totaled 17 points, four rebounds and three assists while Rivenburgh finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Randi Conway added 11 points to go with six rebounds and Jenifer Morgan-Aubin chipped in eight points and five rebounds.

Bianca Brown led all players with 31 points shooting 12-or-16 from the field, while Nina Cray finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Shaquana Owens posted a triple-double with 12 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds.

The Vikings (20-7) outscored the Roos 22-10 in the third quarter after leading 31-27 at intermission. Villa Maria shot 44 percent from the field after intermission compared to a 27.5 percent mark for the Roos (11-13).

The Roos bench outscored the Vikings, 25-8 but Villa Maria doubled Canton up in fast break points, 16-8.

The women's basketball team closes out its regular season on Saturday when it hosts Alfred State College on Senior Day at 2 p.m.
