RANDOLPH CENTER, Vt. – The SUNY Canton men’s soccer team scored two first-half goals en route to a 2-0 win over Vermont Technical College Saturday.
Sophomore Leroy White (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored on a header off a corner kick from Tyler Chiapperino (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) and then freshman Eric Lopez (Holbrok, N.Y.) scored unassisted to give the Roos the win.
SUNY Canton, 10th in the latest USCAA Coaches Poll, moved to 11-6-2 overall and are 8-1-1 in their 10 last games.
Antonio James (Jamaica) made his first career start for the Roos in goal and responded with his first career shutout.
SUNY Canton will wrap up their regular season Oct. 23 and 23 when they host top-ranked University of Maine at Fort Kent in a two-game series at home.
