Cara Waterson and Jenny Scudder scored 11 points each leading the St. Lawrence University Women's Basketball team to a convincing 49-27 victory over Keuka College Thursday night at the JMW Center in Keuka Park.

Waterson scored six points in the first quarter as St. Lawrence (3-0) took an early 9-6 lead. The Saints defense limited Keuka (0-3) to just a pair of baskets in the first 10 minutes of action.

In the second quarter, the teams played even throughout the next 10 minutes and St. Lawrence took a 20-16 lead into the halftime intermission.

In the third quarter, Keuka trimmed the lead to a point with an early 3-pointer but St. Lawrence responded with more tough defense and a 13-0 run to open up a double-digit lead. In the run, Scudder drained a 3-pointer and Waterson added a pair of free throws as the Saints took a 33-19 lead.

The Saints used their entire bench in the final quarter as they cruised to the victory.

Scudder and Waterson led the scoring with 11 points each and Waterson grabbed a team-leading seven rebounds. Ellie Gonyeau and Meghan O'Connor each added six points and six rebounds while Lauren Quattrocchi handed out a team-best five assists.

The Saints held Keuka to 18.8 percent shooting (8-for-45) from the field and the Wolfpack converted just 8-of-14 free throws (57%). St. Lawrence was 15-for-49 (30.6%) from the field and scored 15 points off 17 Keuka turnovers.

St. Lawrence returns to action after the Thanksgiving break with a Dec. 1st matchup at SUNY Plattsburgh with a 5:30 pm game in Plattsburgh.
