Sophomore Tommy Ferguson shot rounds of 77 and 78 and finished tied for 30th to lead the St. Lawrence men's golf team at the Duke Nelson Invitation at Middlebury College.
The Saints finished 11th as a team in a 25-team event on the par 71 6,379 yard Ralph Myre Golf Course at Middlebury.
Ferguson posted his best collegiate tournament finish at Middlebury and was the only Saint in the 70s in both rounds with his 155 total. John Harris shot 81-77 for a 158 total and tied for 45th among the 128 golfers in the tournament while Jeff Dugan shot 81-79 160 to tie for 61st and Adrian Bouthot and Pete Harriman each shot 162 two-round totals to tie for 70th. Bouthot shot 82-80 and Harriman 79-83.
St. Lawrence had team scores of 318 and 314 for a 632 total, three strokes behind UMass-Dartmouth, which finished 10th.
The Saints will return to action at the Liberty League Championships in Rochester Saturday and Sunday.
