SLU women's soccer to host Summer ID Clinic in July

The St. Lawrence University women's soccer program is gearing up to host its second ID clinic of the year on July 6th and 7th.

"We are so excited to host our second ID clinic of the year after such a fantastic experience with the 32 attendees in April. Once again, we will be sticking to our unique style of providing an intimate, personable, learning experience while being exposed to almost every element that a collegiate athlete faces on a day-to-day basis. An evaluation will be provided to the capped 45 attendee's and we hope that it will be our most competitive recruiting group on campus to date." said head coach Sinead McSharry.

The two-day clinic will include some speed, agility, quickness training, a technical-tactical component, as well as a goalkeeper specific session, progressing from small-sided games to full field scrimmage throughout the day. Lunch will be provided in the on-campus dining hall. There will also be an opportunity for participants and families to ask questions to current members of the women's soccer team and staff during the player panel.

Players will be exposed to challenging training sessions created to improve decision making and speed of play. Competitive 11v11 matches will also enable players to showcase their talents in a full-field environment. This camp provides participants an opportunity to be trained and coached by the current soccer staff and learn more about the student-athlete experience on one of the most beautiful campuses in the region.

"I think what makes our clinic standout, is that we not only provide an experience for our players but for our parents as well. We hope to equip them with the knowledge and confidence by providing an admissions and financial aid seminar. Our goal is to have our parents leaving the clinic feeling more confident in navigating the sometimes daunting/treacherous college recruiting process." McSharry added.
