Sophomore and the Saints leading scorer from last season, Julia Mulhern scored late to lead the St. Lawrence University women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Nazareth on Saturday afternoon in Rochester, New York.

In the 76th minute of play, Lauren Arthaud fed Julia Mulhern to give the Saints a 1-0 and seal the win for the Scarlet and Brown.

"The team had a courageous effort in the second half," said head coach Sinead McSharry. "It was good to see the players make adjustments on their own and also take on new information during the flow of the game. They found a way to dig deep and take charge of the game and I am very proud of the overall effort."

Marge Terhune led the Scarlet and Brown with three shots on goal, while Mulhern finished with two and four other Saints each added one.

St. Lawrence controlled the field, outshooting the Golden Flyers 14-3 including a 9-1 advantage in shots on goal. Prior to the goal and throughout the second half, the Saints had a number of quality scoring chances, while Terhune pressured Miller with two shots just five minutes apart.

Golden Flyer's goalkeeper Hannah Miller made eight saves for Nazareth, four in each period, while the Saints' Samantha Allen finished with one.

With the win the Saints remain undefeated at 3-0, while Nazareth fell to 2-2 on the season.

The Saints will travel to Oneonta, New York on Saturday, September 14 to take on Hartwick College at 3 p.m.
