Ten different players found their way onto the score sheet Friday night, as the St. Lawrence women's hockey team went on to defeat Colgate 5-0 in Appleton Arena. With the win, the Saints improve to 8-5-2 on the year and 5-2-1 in the ECAC, while the Raiders fall to 3-12-0 and 1-5-0 against conference opponents.

Abbey McRae, Jacqueline Wand and Brooke Webster each had multi-point games for the Saints, who were playing their first game in 13 days.

The Scarlet and Brown was outshot 14-9 in the opening frame, but was able to capitlize on opportunities by first-year Kennedy Marchment and sophomore Kirsten Padalis to carry a 2-0 lead into the second.

"We weathered the storm in the first period," Head Coach Chris Wells said. "Colgate came and outplayed us in the first period and we were fortunate to be up by two. We did a good job finishing the game and are happy with the two points."

Marchment opened the scoring just over three minutes in when she tucked the rebound from a Brooke Webster shot under the pads of Colgate goaltender Ashlynne Rando for the seventh goal of her rookie campaign.

Later in the period, with the Saints on the power play, Padalis extended the St. Lawrence lead with a high wrister from just inside the point that froze Rando. Kayla Raniwsky and Kailee Heidersbach assisted on the play.

After the intermission, it took St. Lawrence just 31 seconds to push its lead to three goals when Brooke Webster lifted a shot over Rando's right shoulder, blocker side, from just beneath the circle.

The team's fourth goal came from senior Jacqueline Wand while the Saints were shorthanded at the 11:43 mark of the second. Fellow senior Jessica Hon broke out of the defensive zone for an odd man rush with Wand. She carried the puck down the left wing before dishing to Wand who snapped a wrister between the wickets of Rando for her second of the season.

With just over a minute and half remaining in the middle frame, junior Abbey McRae beat Rando short post for her first goal of 2014 and the Saints final goal of the game.

Rando finished with 31 saves for the Raiders, while senior netminder Carmen MacDonald made 17 stops through two periods. She was relieved by first-year Brooke Wolejko to start the third. The rookie posted 10 saves of her own in the combined shutout.

The Saints will now turn their attention to defending ECAC Champion, Cornell, who they'll face off with at 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at Appleton Arena.
