Masha Kolesnikova recorded 10 kills, three aces, eight digs and three blocks as the junior led St. Lawrence to a 3-0 victory over Elmira College Saturday afternoon on the second day of competition in the Canton Classic co-hosted by St. Lawrence and SUNY Canton.

The Saints (8-11) completed their weekend sweep with a win over Elmira by scores of 25-17, 25-23 and 25-23.

"The match today definitely wasn't one of our best performances but we found a way to win," said head coach Shelly Roiger. "We were down late in both the 2nd and 3rd set but found a way to come back by being aggressive and confident. Each time we made our late run I felt like it wasn't because the opponent made mistakes; but rather that we just decided to play more aggressive and as a result execute better."

Kolesnikova was named to the All-Tournament team for the weekend as the Saints posted wins over SUNY Canton and Hartwick Friday before downing Elmira Saturday.

Maddy Ruehl and Amanda Teppo added seven kills each with Ruehl making four blocks and Teppo adding three. Ally Good led the defense with 15 digs and Maddy Bishop added 10 digs and 27 assists. Good and Katie Rowell had three aces each for the Saints.

St. Lawrence competes next in the second weekend of Liberty League matches with a pair of matches Friday at Clarkson against the Golden Knights and Union before hosting RIT and Skidmore Saturday at Burkman Gymnasium.
