First-year Brian Beyerbach skied to a career-best 19th place earning his first career EISA top-20 finish to lead the St. Lawrence University Nordic Ski team on day two of the University of New Hampshire Carnival at the Jackson XC Touring Center in Jackson, New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon.
Beyerbach placed 19th in the men's freestyle sprint and earned a team-best 25 points for the Saints.
Junior Lucy Hochschartner led the women's squad for the second consecutive day earning a 24th-place finish in the women's freestyle sprint to capture 24 points for the Saints.
"The team did well today," said head coach Ethan Townsend '98 M '01. "It was actually one of our best days as a team thus far. Things need to pick up, but for the most part we are trending in the right direction."
At the end of day two, the women's squad finished in eighth place, while the men recorded a ninth-place result. Combined with the Alpine team's scores the Saints finished the UNH carnival in seventh place, while Dartmouth, UVM and Middlebury took home the top three spots.
