Men's tennis finished it's spring training trip in California with a 9-0 sweep of Occidental college on Thursday night to finish 1-3 on the west coast and improve to 5-5 overall heading into the remainder of the team's spring schedule.
Robert Schmitz and Elliot Solandt combined for an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles, Rhonnny Rosario and Dean Sponholz posted an 8-2 win at No. 2 and Paul Barrett and Garrett Sopko rounded out doubles with an 8-3 win at No. 3 to send the Saints into singles up 3-0.
All but one singles match was decided in straight sets, as Schmitz's match at No. 3 needed a super breaker after he dropped the second. Schmitz went on to win 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 to secure the sweep for St. Lawrence.
The other singles winners included Sponholz (No. 1), Rosario (No. 2), Kevin Frommer (No. 4), Solandt (No. 5) and Marco Amendola (No. 6).
The Saints won't play again until April 2 when they face Union in a Liberty League match.
