St. Lawrence University first-year student Abbey McRae has been selected the Hogan Hockey/ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Month for November by the league's coaches.

McRae had an outstanding offensive month for the Saints, posting a team-high six goals including two on the power play and one game-winner. The London, ON native recorded her first collegiate hat trick against Yale while adding goals against conference foes Brown, Princeton and Colgate. McRae closed November with a +8 rating overall, and was chosen out of an impressive nominee list that included Janelle Ferrara (Yale), Shannon MacAulay (Clarkson), Emerance Maschmeyer (Harvard), Ashlynne Rando (Colgate), Laura Stacey (Dartmouth) and Taylor Woods (Cornell).

"Abbey has been able to transition to the college game quickly," said St. Lawrence head coach Chris Wells. "She has a great work ethic which has been a big part of her success this season."

The league's coaches also selected Harvard's Jillian Dempsey and Clarkson's Erica Howe as the Hogan/ECAC Hockey Player and Goaltender of the Month, respectively. Dempsey extended her current point-streak to 23 games, while Howe helped the Golden Knights to a 6-1 record and to the No. 2 spot in the nation polls with a save percentage higher than .940.

McRae and the Saints will be in action this weekend when they host Penn State University for a pair of games at Appleton Arena on Friday and Saturday, December 7 and 8.
