The St. Lawrence University volleyball team defeated Plattsburgh State 3-1 (25-23, 24-26, 25-17, 25-21) on Tuesday night in Plattsburgh, NY.
The Saints move to 4-1 on the young season, while the Cardinals fall to 2-3.
"We tried some different options for our defense and persevered through a setter injury to come out with a win," said St. Lawrence Head Coach Shelly Roiger. "We have a list of things to work on but we are getting more questions answered each match."
Senior Nyasha Miller led the Saints with 16 kills and 17 digs, while classmates Marta Johann and Liz Grogan added 15 and 11 kills, respectively. Senior defensive specialist Katherine Pierce recorded 20 digs while sophomore Anna Kassab added 17 digs.
St. Lawrence will play another full weekend of matches as it participates in the Victory Promotions Tournament hosted by Potsdam State. The Saints will battle SUNYIT, Southern Vermont College, St. Michael's and Hamilton on their home court on Friday and Saturday.
