St. Lawrence University's baseball team completed its 2014 Florida trip with a 4-4 record after Coast Guard roughed up Saint pitching in a 18-3 win at Ft. Myers on Saturday in the final game of the southern trip.
Coast Guard jumped out to a 8-2 lead through three innings and tacked on another 10 runs over the final four innings for the one-sided victory. The Bears had 13 hits while Saint pitchers issued six walks and hit four batters. SLU also committed six errors in the game.
Khifer O'Connor had a first inning double and Brian Magovny singled him home and Magovney later scored when Chris Fernandez, who had singled, was caught in a rundown. Devin Robson scored the third Saint run, reaching on an error and scoring on a pair of wild pitches.
Robson had two hits and Adam Reichel had a pinch-hit double for the Saints, who are scheduled to open Liberty League action at the University of Rochester on March 22.
