(Canton, N.Y.)- Senior first baseman Carolina Olivares (Adelanto, Calif.) of the softball team has been named an Honorable Mention All-American by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Olivares was named the Sunrise Conference Player of the Year and earned all-conference honors for the second straight season this spring. She was one of the top
batters in the country as she finished tied for third in the NAIA in hitting with a .510 average.
The graphic and multimedia design major pounded out 52 hits and drove in 38 runs while scoring another 31. She recorded 14 doubles, five triples and three home runs and drew 13 walks. Olivares had a slugging percentage of .833, an on-base percentage of .569 and a .980 fielding percentage at first base.
