MORRISVILLE--The SUNY Canton women's soccer team rolled to their third straight win on Wednesday as they blanked Morrisville State College 5-0 in Morrisville.

The Roos scored two goals in the first half and three more in the second to improve to 3-2 overall and the win was a team effort according to head coach Kate Thomas-Moody.

"Tonight's win was the result of a total team effort from everywhere on the field," said Thomas-Moody.  "It was great to earn a decisive victory as well as a shutout.  I cannot ask for more from these ladies."

Melissa Campoverde (New York, N.Y.) opend the scoring for the Roos in the seventh minute tallying an unassisted goal, her second of the year.  In the 36th minute Chelsea Allen (Marcellus, N.Y.) took a feed from Bailey Allen (Adams, N.Y.) and lofted a shot over the head of the Mustangs goalie for her second score of the year and the Roos had a 2-0 lead at halftime.

In the 60th minute the Roos were awarded a penalty kick and Kirsten Morley (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) capitilized scoring her third goal of the season.  SUNY Canton tacked on their final two goals in the last seven minutes of the game.  Bailey Allen scored in the 83rd minute from Angie Waryasz (Lowville, N.Y.) and then Waryasz connected from Carissa Clark (Georgetown, N.Y.) in the 89th minute.  Waryasz now has a team-leading four goals and nine points.

Holli-Jo Cota (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) made her first career start in goal and made four saves in just over 66 minutes and Aubrey Parrish (Greene, N.Y.) came on in relief and had one save the rest of the way.

The Roos outshot the Mustangs 34-8 and held an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Cheyanna Waters and Sara Boudah combined to make 16 saves for Morrisville State.

The Roos will take their winning streak into a key Sunrise Conference weekend when they face defending conference champions the University of Maine at Fort Kent on Saturday and the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Sunday.  Both games will be at 1 in Canton.
