(Canton, N.Y.)- Four different players scored a goal as the SUNY Canton men's ice hockey team extended their winning streak to six games with a 4-0 win over Canisius College on Saturday at the Canton Pavilion.
The Roos, who are 20th in the ACHA Division I rankings, are now 5-0 in the Eastern Collegiate Hockey League and 14-2 overall.
SUNY Canton went ahead 2-0 after the first period following goals from Corey Frizell (Orleans, Ontario) and Rob Liggio (Canton, N.Y.).
Doug Burns (Manchester, N.H.) scored in the second period and Cory Giczewski (Fountain Valley, Calif.) tacked on one more in the third period to round out the scoring. Giczewksi also assisted on Liggio's goal in the first period.
Michael Pittman (Amarillo, Texas) improved to 3-0 and earned his first career shutouts stopping 10 shots in goal.
Andy Olsen had 28 saves for the Golden Griffs.
