CANTON -- SUNY Canton Junior Justin Richardson has been named the USCAA Runner of the Week in men's cross country.
Richardson, of Pavilion, N.Y., earned the award after winning the individual title and leading the Roos to the team title at the Mountaineer Invitational at Southern Vermont College on Sept. 24.
Richardson completed the 8K race on the hilly and challenging course in Bennington in a time of 30:34, nearly a minute faster than the second-place finisher.
This is the second time a member of the men's team has been honored by the US Collegiate Athletic Association this fall.
Freshman Timothy Messina garnered the award in early September after the Roos won the Wildcat Invitational at SUNYIT.
