(Lorain, Ohio)- SUNY Canton lost 9-0 and 8-0 in a baseball doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Notre Dame College in Lorain, Ohio.
In the first game, Danny Perez (Brooklyn, N.Y.) went 2-for-3 with a pair of single and Tyler Durward (Ottawa, Ontario) was saddled with the loss as he allowed seven hits and five walks with one strikeout in six innings of work.
Nick Belile (Norwood, N.Y.), Thomas Fearon (Ajax, Ontario), Evan Hammond (Ottawa, Ontario), and Jeff Lake (Battersea, Ontario) also singled in the opener.
In the second game, Hammond and Larry Jankowski (Oneonta, N.Y.) each laced a single to lead the Roos offensively. Jordan Hunneyman (Redwood, N.Y.) had four strikeouts and surrendered three hits and five walks in 4 2/3 innings. Dillon James (Ottawa, Ontario) came on in relief and gave up three hits before giving way to Fearon who closed out the game with two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings.
Tony Younis and Jesse Bartle each drove in two runs in the opener for the Falcons and Simon Davis recorded seven strikeouts. Mike Ferguson and Matt Fritz had two RBIs in the second game.
SUNY Canton (0-15) hits the road next weekend for a pair of doubleheaders.
