POTSDAM -- Power skating specialist coach Karen Healey will present a twice-weekly school for all levels of hockey players July 19-Aug. 11 at Clarkson University’s Cheel Arena.
On-ice sessions will include drills to improve a hockey player’s fast starts, powerful strides, quickness, agility, recovery, and balance. Proper technique and form will be taught and demonstrated.
Hockey players will train every Tuesday and Thursday on-ice for one hour and off-ice for one hour each session, from 5:30-7:30 for a total of eight sessions.
Off-ice drills will reinforce what is taught on-ice. Drills are developed for all levels. Hockey players will learn great ideas to train and prepare for next season’s start of hockey.
Participants should bring a water bottle with their name on it. Full gear and stick are required for on-ice training. T-shirt, shorts, and sneakers are needed for dry land workouts.
Cost is $190. For an application or more information contact Healey at 265-1024 or khealeyfamily@hotmail.com.
