Page, Ogetii lead Saints men's track to second after Day 1 of Regionals

Evan Page and Dadley Ogetii posted second-place finishes in the 10,000-meter run and the 3,000 steeplechase, respectively, to lead the St. Lawrence University men's outdoor track and field team on the first day of competition at the All-Atlantic Regional Track and Field Conference Championships at SUNY Brockport on Wednesday.

Page capped his career with a personal best in the 10K, dropping more than 33 seconds off his previous best time in the distance to finish just over three seconds behind RIT's Otto Kingstedt. Ogetii also posted a significant PR, dropping more than 12 seconds off his previous best time in the steeplechase, finishing 14 seconds behind SUNY Brockport's Andrew Davis.

The Saints dominated the 10K, with Logan Mancuso cutting 15 seconds off his previous best to finish third in 31:20.77, and Dexter Benkard finished sixth in 33:29.17.

Will Merchant also scored points for the Saints, finishing fourth in the javelin with a throw of 52.38 meters, while Ian Clough won his heat in the 100 to claim an automatic qualifier for Thursday's final with the second-best time of the day (10.83 seconds).

The Saints are in second place in the team standings with 30 points after the first day of competition. Rowan sits in first place with 34 points.

The regional championship meet will conclude on Thursday.
