Dadley Ogetii was the first of five consecutive St. Lawrence University runners to cross the finish line at the Cardinal Classic at Plattsburgh State on Saturday morning, leading the Saints to a perfect score of 15 to easily claim the team championship.
Ogetii finished the six-kilometer race in 19 minutes, 20.7 seconds, just 3.3 seconds faster than teammate Logan Mancuso, to take individual title. Ogetii's time established a course record, as it was the first time Plattsburgh State had used the 6K course for a men's race.
Plattsburgh State finished second with 49 points; Clarkson was third with 78, and SUNY Potsdam was fourth with 120.
Quote from head coach John Newman '94
I'm very happy with the effort and execution that I saw from our team today. It was nice to see the guys work together and take charge. Today served its purpose and was exactly what we needed at the end of a very heavy couple weeks of training and the start of classes."
