The SUNY Canton women's soccer team received goals from six different players as they blanked Vermont Technical College 9-0 Sunday afternoon in Canton.
The Roos fired 36 shots at the Green Knights as they improved to 2-2 in the Sunrise Conference and 4-4 overall.
"We played really well today," said head coach Kate Thomas-Moody. "We scored two great goals off headers and it's terrific to see them implement what we have worked on in practice. It was also very important for the entire team to send Emily Bush off on a high note today."
Bush, a junior midfielder and co-captain from Ogdensburg, will have season-ending knee surgery this week. Bush scored late in the second half for her first goal of the season.
The Roos led 5-0 at halftime and tacked on four more goals in the final 45 minutes.
Bailey Allen (Adams, N.Y.) scored three goals, two in the first half, and had one assist to lead the Roos. Ricci Celia (Essex Junction, Vt.), Angie Waryasz (Lowville, N.Y.) and Kirsten Morley (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) also scored in the first half.
Morley added her second goal in the second half. Allen and Teresa Morley (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) also scored in the second half.
Celia added three assists and Holi-Jo Cota (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) had one save for her first career shutout.
Abigail Senesac had 12 saves for the Green Knights.
