(Canton, N.Y.)- SUNY Canton hosted the men’s and women’s cross country North Country Invitational on Wednesday and competed against four other area colleges.
Both races were a 5K and this was the first time the Roos have hosted the event. Along with SUNY Canton, runners from St. Lawrence University, Clarkson University, SUNY Potsdam, and Paul Smith’s College competed. There were no team scores kept, just individual times and in the women’s race the Roos had two runners place in the top 25.
Freshman Megan Mydosh (Warwick, N.Y.), coming off a fifth-place finish at the SUNYIT Wildcat Invitational last weekend, placed 10 on Wednesday in a time of 22:17. Freshman Heather Ameele (Williamson, N.Y.) was 24th in a time of 24:49.
Sarah Glode (Champlain, N.Y.) finished in 35th place (27:57) for the Roos, Batzaida Ramirez (Brooklyn, N.Y.) came in 38th place in a time of 29:20, which was 52 seconds better than her time at SUNYIT. Rachel Fox (Fort Plain, N.Y.) finished in in 41st place in a time of 34:02, nearly five minutes better than on Saturday, and Jenna Tomlinson (Gloversville, N.Y.) came in 43rd place (29:58).
The Roos hit the road to run in the Panthers Invitational at Middlebury College on Sept. 10.
