Men's novice rowing team eight takes fourth for Saints at Head of the Fish Regatta

The St. Lawrence University men's novice 8+ posted a fourth-place finish at the Head of the Fish Regatta on Saturday.

The Saints battled against 25 other crews, negotiating the 3,300 meter course in 13:05.16 - less than two tenths of a second behind the University of Vermont. The eight bested opponents from Colgate, Rochester Institute of Technology, Marist, and UMass.

Powering the Saint's eight were coxswain Jeff O'Connor, Peter Weatherill, Andy Caswell, Ethan Buhl, Andrew Freeman, Will Standish, Thaddeus Sipe, and Sam Scheu.

In the men's collegiate 8+ event, the Saints took 13th place with a time of 12:11.13, less than three seconds behind Ithaca College and fifteen seconds behind RIT. Rowing the 8+ were Allison Webster (coxswain), Cam West, Jon Williams, Dave MacClaren, Brent Underwood, Griffin Green, Rob Meacham, Nick Blum, and Francis Stripp.

The Saints also participated in the collegiate Light 4+, earning a fourth-place finish with a time of 13:31.07.

The Head of the Fish Regatta concludes the Saints crew fall schedule. They will be back in action in the spring.
