The St. Lawrence University Crew teams competed at the Head of the Genesee, held on Saturday on the Genesee River in Rochester, NY.
The race consisted of a 5k event in the morning and then a 1500 meter sprint in the afternoon.
The men's crew team finished 12th in the 5k head race with a time of 17:07.86. In the afternoon sprint, the Saints recorded a time of 4:38.28, roughly 16 seconds behind Cornell University who was the leader of the eights.
Overall, the Saints finished 14th in the men's collegiate 8+, and 9th among the Division III schools competing.
"The guys are continuing to make real progress in how they move the boat," Coach George Repicky said. "It means we're getting significantly overstroked right now, but we're focused on the things that will make us fast in May - not in October."
The Saints will compete at the Head of the Charles this Saturday October 23rd on the Charles River in Boston, MA.
