Logan Mancuso finished in 10th place overall and was the third-fastest NCAA Division III performer in the 10,000-meter run to lead the St. Lawrence University men's track and field team on the first day of the highly-competitive Bucknell Bison Invitational in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.
Mancuso finished the race in 31 minutes, 36.46 seconds, a half-second off his personal-best performance in the distance. Chris Mason of Indiana Wesleyan won the race in 31:19.56, and Calvin's Jonathan Ellis was the top D-III finisher, coming in second in 31:21.67. Evan Page also performed well in the race for the Saints, coming in 18th in the field of 49 runners in 31:43.99. Both runners qualified for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference Championships.
Will Merchant led the Saints in the field events, finishing 22nd in the javelin with a throw of 52.65 meters. Dadley Ogetii was the Scarlet and Brown's top 1,500 runner, finishing in 71st in 4:06.38.
The meet will conclude on Sunday.
