Junior captain Shannon MacAulay (Mt. Herbert, PEI) had two goals and an assist as the Clarkson University Women's Hockey team defeated Dartmouth 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in Cheel Arena. Freshman goaltender Shea Tiley (Owen Sound, ONT) made 24 saves in the game to complete her fourth shutout of the year.

The Golden Knights now have a record of 9-3-1 overall and are 4-0-1 in ECAC Hockey play. The win was also Clarkson's first win over a ranked opponent this season with two losses and a tie in their first three opportunities. The Green and Gold stretched their unbeaten streak in ECAC Hockey regular games to 21, with 17 wins and four ties in that span.

"I thought today was another solid effort from the team," stated Clarkson Head Coach Matt Desrosiers. "Coming away with three points this weekend against two top 10 teams is not only big in the league standings, but also for our confidence. We definitely had to work hard and grind it out both games to earn those points. The coaching staff is really happy with where the team is at this point in the season so hopefully we can continue to get better every weekend moving forward."

Junior Cayley Mercer (Exeter, ONT) opened the scoring at 19:16 in the first period when she was able to score when a rebound fell to her stick. Junior assistant captain Renata Fast (Burlington, ONT) and MacAulay had assists on the play. Fast now has a point in all four of the games she has played in while MacAulay has a team high 11 assists.

MacAulay would add two insurance goals with her first coming from a shot off a faceoff that deflected off a Dartmouth skate and into the back of the net. Junior Genvieve Bannon (Candiac, QUE) was credited with an assist on the goal. The second was an empty net goal in the final minute that killed off any chance of a Dartmouth comeback. The two goals pushed MacAulay's season total to 11 goals and she now has scored a goal in five consecutive games and has at least a point in seven straight games.

The Knights held a 28-24 advantage in shots and both teams were 0-for-2 in man-advantage opportunities.

Clarkson will take a seven-game unbeaten streak (6-0-1) when it travels to Quinnipiac and Princeton for ECAC Hockey games.
