Potsdam, NY - Senior Drew Lewis accounted for both goals for the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team as the Golden Knights claimed a 2-0 win over Castleton on Saturday afternoon at Hantz Turf Field.

With the win, the Golden Knights improved to 4-0-0 on the season, the first time that Clarkson is perfect through four contests since 1990. The Green and Gold were unbeaten through four games in 1991 (3-0-1) as well. Clarkson will look to remain undefeated when it takes on The Sage Colleges at 1:00 pm on Sunday afternoon at Hantz.

Though Castleton outshot Clarkson 6-3 in the first half, only one of the chances was a truly dangerous attempt, but Golden Knights' goalkeeper Riley McDonald slapped the ball aside in the final minute of the half. At that point, Clarkson was up 1-0 thanks to a goal in the 32nd minute from Drew Lewis. Junior Aidan Subra had carried the ball down near the end line and crossed the ball back in, finding his teammate in front, where Lewis tapped the ball with his back heel to the opposite corner to put the Knights up 1-0 at 31:33.

The second half saw Clarkson quickly gain some breathing room as Lewis converted again in the 51st minute. Clarkson was providing plenty of pressure all around the Castleton frame, and sophomore Matt Adamou took advantage by crossing the ball through the box to Lewis, who chipped the ball past Ryan McKay on the nearside post to put Clarkson up 2-0 at 50:25.

The Knights had a few opportunities to extend their lead, but Henry Gomez's shot from up close went high and two hard shots from Mack Walton went wide. Clarkson finished with an 11-8 lead in shots and an 8-5 advantage in corner kick opportunities. McDonald ended up with five saves for the Knights and McKay recorded three saves for Castleton.
