The St. Lawrence University women's basketball team cruised past SUNY Canton (5-5) by the score of 74-37 in a non-conference matchup at Roos' House on Tuesday night. Sophomore Kara McDuffee led three Saints in double figures with 18 points and a career-high 14 rebounds, helping St. Lawrence improve to 4-3 on the season.
First-year-student Lauren Quattrocchi added 13 points and three steals, while junior co-captain Cassie St. Hilaire tallied 12 points for the Saints.
St. Lawrence used a 13-4 run over a six-minute stretch in the opening half that eventually led to a 29-17 lead at halftime. The Saints, who shot 45% from the floor in the second half, outrebounded (54-37) and outscored Canton in the paint (36-16) en route to the road victory.
The Saints will conclude play for the semester on Saturday as they host Medaille College. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00pm in the Burkman Gymnasium.
