Canton, NY – Junior Kody Kocsis tied his season-high with 20 saves, but a strong first half lifted visiting Oswego State to an 18-6 win v. the SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team on Wednesday.

The Roos (10-5) jumped on the board first as Kyle Smith found Trenton Yule for his team-leading 38th goal of the season but it was all Lakers from there as they scored 13 unanswered to take a 13-1 lead into intermission.

Canton scored the first two goals out of intermission as Josh Yelvington and Yule scored back-to-back unassisted goals to get the Roos within 10. However, the teams played to an even 5-5 score after intermission resulting in the 18-6 final.

Yule led the hosts with three goals, while Yelvington added a goal and assist and Smith dished out a pair of assists. Kocsis and Brandon Rodee picked up four ground balls each and Rico Dobbs caused a pair of turnovers.

Caleb Alford led the Lakers (8-4) with four goals and two assists, while Jarrod Wolkom and Kyle Bacon also recorded hat tricks.

Kocsis made 20 saves for the Roos, while Kevin O'Donnell stopped four shots in the win while allowing just one goal in the first half.

The men's lacrosse team is back in action on Saturday when it hosts Alfred State College on Senior Day at 1 p.m.
