Following up on Friday's convincing 5-1 win over Yale, Clarkson University came back on Saturday afternoon with a dominating 6-0 triumph over Brown to complete a weekend sweep in ECAC Hockey action at Cheel Arena.

Ranked sixth in the national polls entering the weekend, the Golden Knights have won four straight to improve to 18-5-1 overall and have moved into a third-place tie in the ECAC Hockey standings with a 9-3 league mark.

The two-time defending National Champions have outscored their opponents 22-2 during their current win streak. A perfect 11-0 at Cheel Arena this season, Clarkson closes out a four-game home stand next weekend, hosting Harvard and Dartmouth.

Clarkson was in complete control against Brown (5-12-2, 2-8-2) from the start, outshooting the Bears 45-10, including a 19-3 margin through the opening 20 minutes.

The Knights' top line led the way combining for three goals and five assists. Senior left wing Loren Gabel (Kitchener, ONT) scored two goals and one assist, junior center Michaela Pejzlova (Pardubice, Czech Rep.) recorded three assists and sophomore right wing Elizabeth Giguere (Quebec City, QUE) tallied the game-winner and added an assist.

Graduate student T.T. Cianfarano (Oswego, NY), senior defenseman Josiane Pozzebon (Bourget, ONT) and freshman wing Taylor Sawka (Cochrane, ALB), with her first career score, also added goals.

Graduate transfer Kassidy Sauve (Whitby, ONT) was called upon to make just 10 saves in picking up her fourth shutout of the season and Clarkson's fifth whitewash on the year.

Giguere, the NCAA's leader in points, started things off with her 19th goal of the season and 45th point though 24 games, finishing off a beautiful passing play by linemates Pejzlova and Gabel, tapping in the puck at the doorstep at 5:37.

Gabel connected for her first of the day at 11:06, knocking in a rebound in front off a shot by Pejzlova.

The Green and Gold made it 3-0 at 15:27 when Cianfarano tipped in a pass from freshman Miranda Gaudet (West Kelowna, BC) for her 13th goal of her Clarkson career. Gaudet earned her first career point on the goal. Senior defenseman Emma Keenan (Calgary, ALB) also assisted.

The Knights did not let up in the middle frame, outshooting Brown 14-6 in the stanza, while building their lead to 5-0 through 40 minutes.

Early in the period, senior captain Cassidy Vinkle (Belleville, ONT) collected a rebound off her own shot in close and shuffled a pass over to Pozzebon at the top of the crease where she stuffed in her third goal of the season and the Knights' seventh shorthanded goal of the year at 3:46.

The nation's leading goal scorer, Gabel made it 5-0 with her 22nd goal of the year, redirecting in a shot by junior defenseman Taylor Turnquist (Blaine, MN) at 11:57. Giguere also set up the goal for her NCAA-best 26th assist of the season.

With her first career goal, Sawka closed out the scoring at 8:11 of the third period, knocking in a rebound off a shot by classmate Morgan Helgeson (Lake Elmo, MN). Pejzlova started the scoring play with her 25th assists of the season.
