Troy, NY – Both Carly Assimon and Kati Gotch finished in double figures but the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team shot just 27 percent from the floor in a 67-46 defeat against Rensselaer on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights finished the season at 7-18 overall and 4-14 in the Liberty League, while the Engineers moved to 12-13 overall and 7-11 in conference games.

After building an 11-7 lead after the first quarter, the Engineers scored 14 of the first 18 points of the second period for a 25-11 advantage 5:17 into the frame. The teams split the next 10 points before Molly Stewart ended the half with a layup to get the Knights back with 12 (30-18) at the break.

Rachel Marion made a three-pointer to open the third, but RPI went on a 20-3 run after that for a 50-24 lead with just under three minutes to play in the quarter. From that point on, the Engineers simply needed to run out the time on the clock, as Clarkson's offense was struggling to make shots from both inside and outside of the arc.

Carly Assimon led the Knights with 11 points and also added in four rebounds and two assists while Kati Gotch contributed 10 points on 4-for-7 shooting. Molly Stewart also contributed 9 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.

For RPI, Elizabeth Eckhardt scored 18 points, shooting 7-for-15 from the floor and 3-for-8 from beyond the arc. Ines Ortea tossed in 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds while LaKissa Martin contributed 11 points and 11 boards.
