Clinton, NY - A two-day event held in Central New York closed out the fall season for the Clarkson University Golf team as senior Brendan LaFleur (Sandown, NH) paced the Knights with a score of 157 (80-77) at Yahnundasis Golg Course and the Skenandoa Club during the Hamilton Invitational.
Clarkson finished 12th among 16 teams in the tournament with a score of 654 (327-327) overall. Manhattanville won the event with a score of 605, followed by Williams (609), Middlebury (611), SUNY Delhi (611), Occidental (613), Rensselaer (618), Hamilton (625), SUNY Farmingdale (627), St. Lawrence (628), Oswego (641) and New York University (642). Clarkson came in 12th at 654, tied with Potsdam State. Rounding out the field were Robert Wesleyan (661), St. Joseph's of New York (670), Utica (695).
LaFleur was tied for the 30th overall among 91 golfers, including a 77 on the par-72 Skenandoa Club. Classmate Joel Bailey (Boonville, NY) was next for Clarkson with a 162, shooing 78 on the par-71 Yahnundasis course on Saturday. Freshman Tyler Cline (Tuxedo, NY) finished tied for 74th with a 169 (86-83) and Daniel Netter (Fayetteville, NY) and Pete Nellis (Mexico, NY) came in tied for 76th with scores of 170.
