Potsdam, NY – Senior Kati Gotch produced her best game as a collegian as she recorded a double-double in the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team's 71-43 victory over Bard College on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Gymnasium.

The Golden Knights picked up their second league win to move to 2-3 in the Liberty League and 5-6 overall, while Bard dropped to 4-5 overall and 0-4 in conference games.

Three players finished in double figures for the Knights, but the key for Clarkson was limiting its mistakes, as the team committed a season-low five turnovers.

Although the two teams were tied in the early going, Clarkson's eight-point run at the midway point of the first quarter assured the Knights of a continuous lead for the remainder of the game. Carly Assimon and Rachel Marion each hit 3-pointers and Hannah Earl followed with a mid-range jumper at the 4:44 mark to put the Green and Gold up 14-6. Bard would close to within five points, but Clarkson rattled off the final eight points of the quarter, capped by an Assimon 3-pointer in the final minute, to make the margin 13 at the end of 10 minutes.

The lead stayed in the teens at the start of the second, with Bard pulling to within 16 at the 5:19 mark on an Olivia Couture 3-pointer. However, Clarkson outscored the Raptors 8-1 in the final five minute as Bard shot 0-for-8 from the field with two turnovers on its final 10 possessions.

The Raptors briefly pulled back to within 20 at the start of the second half, but a solid effort in the third quarter from Kati Gotch finished off any chance of a comeback. Gotch was busy on the glass and converted on the interior, pushing the Knights lead to 30 after a pair of free throws at the 3:39 mark. Bard would eventually get back to within 22 in the fourth period, but the contest was never in doubt down the stretch.

Gotch recorded career-highs of 15 points and 12 rebounds in just 27 minutes, shooting 6-for-8 from the floor with six offensive boards. Rachel Marion added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists while Assimon tossed in 11 points. Both Emma Buonanno and Claire Flannery scored nine points in reserve roles.

For Bard, Christina Kiser scored 26 points, shooting 8-for-20 overall with four 3-pointers, while adding in six rebounds. Jess Rylander grabbed 12 rebounds and Olivia Couture contributed nine points.
