BROCKPORT, N.Y.—The College at Brockport (6-7, 5-1 SUNYAC) defeated the SUNY Potsdam women' lacrosse team (4-10, 1-5) 23-2 on Saturday afternoon's SUNYAC contest. Junior midfielder Meaghan Paige (Carthage, N.Y./Carthage) and sophomore midfielder Alexa Ferrer (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) each scored for the Bears. Sophomore goalie Kayla McCabe (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown) made 12 saves.
Sara Grapevine led the Golden Eagles with four goals and an assist. Jade Williams scored four times and Heather Conklin posted two goals and two assists. Hannah Cullen and Taylor Thomas each netted three goals and Chloe Hurst assisted on three markers. Goalie Sarah Brown made three saves for the win.
Potsdam junior midfielder Cayla O'Connor (Dexter, N.Y./General Brown), Ferrer and sophomore attack Ashley Burrowes (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood) each notched two draw controls, while Ferrer also had two ground balls and a caused turnover.
After five straight road games, the Bears are back to host SUNY Oneonta a 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
