Sophomore Laura Gay followed an opening round 82 with a round of 80 and led St. Lawrence University's women's golf team to a seventh place finish in the NYU Invitational at the Spook Rock Golf Course on Sunday.
Gay finished 17th overall with a two-round total of 162 for her second straight top 20 finish for the Saints.
Host NYU won the tournament with a two round total of 620 with Mount Holyoke second, Middlebury third and Randolph Macon fourth in a 12-team field.
Hailey Wilson finished tied for 24th and was the second Saint golfer with round of 84 and 88 for a 172 total while Augusta Mayer shot 88-85-173 and was 27th, Natalie Squillace shot 93-86 and was tied for 36th and Lexie Haehl shot 96-86 and was tied for 39th.
The Saints will play at the William Smith Invitational Sept. 20-21.
