RINDGE, N.H.—Franklin Pierce University (10-7) scored three third period goals to defeat the SUNY Potsdam women's hockey team (4-7-2) 6-1 on Saturday afternoon. Freshman forward Ellie Cleary (Buffalo, N.Y./Buffalo/Bisons) scored for the Bears and sophomore goaltender Samantha White (Oceanside, Calif./Anaheim Lady Ducks) finished with 27 saves

As they had the day before, the Ravens grabbed the lead early. Katie Neuburger fired through traffic from the left point to give Franklin Pierce a 1-0 advantage. Despite each team going on the man advantage twice in the first period, the score remained the same. White made 11 stops in the opening period.

Power plays were an important factor in the second period, as the Bears earned four and Franklin Pierce three. The Ravens went up 2-0 on the man advantage just one minute into the stanza as Bridgette Prentiss carried the puck all the way in from the neutral zone and scored. 2:46 later, Potsdam went on 5-on-3 power play and got on the board. Senior captain Rylie Murray (Berkley, Mich./Honeybaked) sent the puck in front of the net from the left corner and Cleary jammed it home at 4:11. Junior defenseman Delphine Léonard (Anjou, Quebec/Dawson College Prep) also assisted on the play. The Bears outshot the Ravens 13-6 in the second period, but it was Franklin Pierce that capitalized next. At 5:21, Haley Parker scored on a breakaway to make it 3-1 and the Ravens took the lead into the second intermission.

Franklin Pierce pulled away in the third. Jazmyne Beck added a fourth tally at 4:45 with a blast from the right circle that evaded White. Prentiss made it 5-1 at 16:17 on high, backhanded shot from the right side. 2:20 later, Parker closed the scoring with another power-play goal, knocking home a rebound.

Ravens goalie Emme Ostrander made 25 saves for her second win of the weekend. Franklin Pierce outshot Potsdam 33-26 and was 2-for-6 on the power play, while the Bears went 1-for-10.

Potsdam is back home on Tuesday when the Bears host No. 6/7 Middlebury College at 4:30 p.m.
