Jarrett Burton, a 2014 graduate of the Clarkson University Hockey team has signed an East Coast Hockey League contract with the Wheeling Nailers.
Burton, 23, joined the Nailers at the conclusion of the 2013-14 season, following a four-year career with the Golden Knights. He made his professional debut in Wheeling's 5-1 win over Elmira on March 30th, while also appearing in the club's 3-0 triumph over Toledo on April 2nd. He recorded one shot on goal during each tilt, while posting an even rating.
In 2013-14 during his senior campaign at Clarkson, the Echo Bay, ONT native helped lead the Green and Gold to their best season in six years. Burton skated in all 42 games and recorded 20 points, including 11 goals (tied for second on team). He was honored with Clarkson's Fran Neragin Award, presented to a player who displays unselfish play and sportsmanship both on and off the ice. Burton completed his collegiate career with 54 points on 28 goals and 26 assists through 141 career games.
