NEW PALTZ, N.Y.—SUNY Potsdam senior midfielder Brooke Falsion (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport) tied Bears Hall of Famer Jodi Ziemba's scoring record of 102 points with the 43rd and 44th goals of her career as the women's soccer team (11-2-1, 4-1-1 SUNYAC) defeated SUNY New Paltz (2-11-1, 1-5-1) 3-0 on Friday afternoon. Fellow senior midfielder Rylie Murray (Berkley, Mich./Berkley) recorded a goal and two assists to move into sole possession of third place on the program's all-time scoring list with 65 points.

Potsdam dominated the opening half, peppering the Hawks with 14 shots, while not allowing a single one. At the 13:21 mark, the Bears broke through as Falsion finished a cross from Murray. Potsdam never let up during the half, but New Paltz goalie Megan Tornatore made seven saves to give the Hawks a chance.

The Bears took fewer shots in the second half, but never let control of the game slip. Murray set up Falsion again at 59:32 and then put the game away three minutes later with helpers from freshman forward Makenna Crosson (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) and sophomore defender Maeve Morrissey (Averill Park, N.Y./Averill Park).

Bears sophomore goalkeeper Gabby Hobika (New Hartford, N.Y./New Hartford) needed just one save for her 10th career win and fourth career shutout. Tornatore finished with nine stops.

Potsdam outshot New Paltz 19-3 and had a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The Bears head to Oneonta tomorrow afternoon for a 1 p.m. contest.
