First-year swimmer Grant Fisher earned a pair of individual victories and the Saints divers swept both the one and three meter events, but the St. Lawrence men's swimming team fell to Clarkson 129-100 on Saturday afternoon in Potsdam.
Fisher got things started for the Saints in the individual events with a win in the 800 free, as he beat out junior teammate Matt Bauer and four Clarkson swimmers. The Saints pair finished with times of 9:40.23 and 9:51.45, respectively. Fisher also won at the 400 distance (4:21.97), with Bauer finishing third (4:46.73).
The diving trio of James Wilczewski, Alex Blake and William Moran competed against one another on Saturday, as Clarkson did not have a diver entered into either event. Wilczewski (255.40, 282.25) took first in both, followed by Blake (231.80, 224.30) and Moran (191.95, 179.30).
The teams split relay events, with the Saints team of Samuel Song, Matt Bauer, Jack Quinn and Austin Clark taking first in the 200 free relay with a combined time of 1:54.89.
Other top-three finishers for the Saints included: Grant Reeder (2nd, 200 free; 3rd, 200 back); Brandon Walker (3rd, 50 free); and Samuel Song (2nd, 200 fly).
