CORTLAND, N.Y.-- SUNY Cortland (12-3, 7-1 SUNYAC) pulled away from the SUNY Potsdam men's basketball team (8-7, 3-5 SUNYAC) in the final two minutes to take the 75-60 win on Saturday afternoon. The Bears were led by junior forward Nosa Onabor (Brooklyn, N.Y./Northside Charter), who had the team-high 18 points and seven rebounds. Nicky Bonura led the charge for the Red Dragons with 24 points.

Potsdam got an early 5-3 lead after junior guard Dante Langley's (Schuylerville, N.Y./Schuylerville) jumper and sophomore guard Danny Delsol-Lowry's (Queens, N.Y./Queens H.S. of Teaching) old fashion three-point play, but Cortland answered with a 16-0 run. James Morales and Justin Cooper led the stretch with six points each and the Red Dragons held a 19-5 lead with 12:10 remaining in the half. The Bears countered with five different players scoring during the 14-6 push, to bring the deficit to within six. Mini offensive runs were exchanged between both sides for the remaining half, with Cortland getting the lead back up to 13 with Bonura's three at 3:50. Potsdam closed the gap to six and trailed 40-31 at the break.

Throughout the first nine minutes of the second half, the teams traded baskets, while Cortland maintained the lead. Onabor hit a shot from beyond the arc, to close to within 54-48 with 10:42 left, but the Red Dragons went on a 10-0 run. Bonura hit two 3-pointers during the push and Cortland led 64-48 with 8:07 left in the game. The Bears came right back with a 12-2 run, getting to within six with 2:35 remaining. Onabor and junior forward Serigne Kane (Brooklyn, N.Y./Brooklyn Prep) led the push with a combined nine points.
