Junior back Harry Copeland scored two goals and captain Dan Hunt added the third as the Saints went on to beat RIT 3-1 in Rochester on Saturday afternoon to remain undefeated against Liberty League opponents and improve to 10-2-0 overall. With the loss, RIT falls to 4-8-1 overall and 2-2-0 in conference matches.

Copeland, who is the reigning Liberty League and ECAC Upstate Defensive Player of the Week, got the Saints out in front early when he one-timed the rebound from a shot by sophomore Rob Brandell in the ninth minute for team-leading fifth goal of the year.

Brandell collected the ball on the penalty line and sent a shot towards the middle of the goal with RIT keeper Mark Reeves falling to the left. Brandell's shot was stopped at the line by a Tigers' defender, but Copeland was waiting on the far post for the easy score and a 1-0 Saints lead.

RIT pulled even when Scott Fishel beat the Saints goalkeeper Sean Houston when he finished a Geno Rocco corner in the 34th minute.

But with time winding down in the first half, Copeland buried his second of the day and sixth of the season to put the Saints back in front for good. This time it was sophomore Noah Bunton who set up the 6-foot-5 center back with a free kick into the box, which Copeland headed into the far corner for the game-winning goal.

Dan Hunt, who missed much of the first half of the season with injury, was credited with his second goal of the season on an own goal by an RIT defender. The play started when Mark Provost played a free kick from 30 yards out into the box towards the right post. Hunt was crashing the net and jumped forward, legs extended, to volley the ball towards goal before it crossed the end line. His shot rang of the inside of the left post right to the foot a Tiger's defender who was unable to settle the ball cleanly to clear and ended up besting his own goalkeeper to help St. Lawrence to a 3-1 lead and the eventual victory.

Reeves finished with seven saves for the Tiger's as the Saints dominated the offensive opportunities, finishing with a 10-4 edge in shots on goal. Houston finished with one save in the match.

The Saints have now won seven straight games heading into tomorrow's non-conference matchup against SUNY Canton at 2 p.m. on Sandy MacAllaster Field.
