CLINTON, N.Y.—Hamilton College (11-2) defeated the SUNY Potsdam women's basketball (1-11) 76-37 on Tuesday night. Sophomore guard Drew Dufrane (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) and junior guard Riley Luckie (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Odgensburg Free Academy) each led the Bears with six points, while freshman forward Hannah Marcellus (Potsdam, N.Y./Madrid-Waddington) and junior guard Abbey Smith (Bainbridge, N.Y./Bainbridge-Guilford) each added five.
The Continentals broke open a close game early with a 10-4 run to close the first quarter and never looked back. Carly O'Hern had a game-high 16 points for the Continentals and Lauren Getman just missed a double-double with 10 points and seven rebounds. Scout Lansing scored nine points, Marie Steiner had eight and Halie Serbent finished with seven, five assists and four boards.
The Bears head to Central New York this weekend to resume SUNYAC Play. Potsdam faces Oswego at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and Cortland at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
