With a 3-1 victory over Harvard on Saturday at Cheel Arena on Senior Day, the Clarkson University Women's Hockey team clinched a share of the ECAC Hockey Regular-Season title and earned the #1 seed in the upcoming league playoffs.

The Golden Knights, who claimed the regular-season title for the second consecutive year and for the fourth time in the program's 15-year history, finished tied for first in the conference along with Colgate, owning a 19-3 ECAC Hockey record. The Green and Gold earned the #1 seed over Colgate because of a better record against the top four teams in the standings.

Defending ECAC Hockey Tournament Champions, Clarkson will host Yale in a best-of-three game series at Cheel Arena next weekend. The Knights, who swept the Bulldogs in the regular season (4-0, 2-1), will play on Friday and Saturday at 3:00 p.m., and again on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. if the series is tied after the first two games.

Ranked second in the national polls, the Knights boast a 29-4-1 overall record.

The Class of 2018 wasted little time in setting the tone against Harvard (13-14-2, 10-10-2) on their Senior Day, combining for the first goal just 17 seconds after the opening faceoff. The Knights' captain, Savannah Harmon (Downers Grove, IL) opened the scoring, finishing off a nice pass from assistant captain Lauren Lefler (Windsor, ONT) on a shot from the high slot for her eighth goal of the season and 30th career tally. Assistant captain Amanda Titus (Stittsville, ONT) also assisted.

Clarkson added a pair of goals early in the middle frame to build its lead to 3-0. Junior Kelly Mariani (Mississauga, ONT) found a loose puck along the right boards and skated in a on a 3-on-1 rush, where she finished off a give-and-go with classmate Cassidy Vinkle (Belleville, ONT) with shot under the crossbar at 2:54 for her fourth goal of the year.

At 7:57, junior left wing Loren Gabel (Kitchener, ONT) put her name in the Clarkson record books by scoring her 29th goal of the season on a shot from the slot. The goal ties Gabel with 2014 Patty Kazmaier Award winner Jamie Lee Rattray '14 for most Clarkson goals in a single season. Lefler and Titus recorded their second assists of the night to set up the goal.

Harvard spoiled the shutout bid by Clarkson's senior goaltender Shea Tiley (Owen Sound, ONT) with Bradley Fusco's goal at 12:03 of the second.

The Knights outshot the Crimson 30-16. Tiley finished with 15 saves for her 107th career victory.

Both teams went 0-of-4 on the power play.
