Three first-half goals doomed the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team to a 4-0 loss to Nazareth on Saturday afternoon.
Clarkson falls to 4-2-0 while Nazareth improves to 3-1-2.
Two early goals in the first half got Nazareth off to a good start. In the 12th minute, the Golden Flyers got on the scoreboard when Jessica Byrnes with Laura Herman getting the assist. Just two minutes later, Nazareth added a second when Mary Kate Ordway scored. A third goal by Paige Sullivan gave Nazareth a 3-0 lead at halftime.
A fourth goal by Julia Delgatti gave the Golden Flyers an insurmountable 4-0 lead.
Clarkson was outshot 23-7 and took just two corners to Nazareth's five. Elyse Green made four saves while two Nazareth goalkeepers made three saves for the shutout.
Clarkson's next game will be on Tuesday night when Clarkson hosts local rival Potsdam.
