MIDDLEBURY, VT.--Junior Brendan LaFleur (Sandown, NH) of the Clarkson University Golf team shot a one-under par on day two to pace the field at the 27th annual Duke Nelson Invitational.

Though Clarkson placed 25th of the 25 teams at the event, LaFleur was one of only two golfers all weekend to break par at the par-71, 6,379-yard Ralph Myhre Golf Course on the campus of Middlebury College. He shot 80 on day one, but came back to score a 70 on day two, finishing in a tie for 8th overall with a score of 150, four strokes off the pace.

The remainder of the Clarkson golf team didn't fair as well on day two. Pete Nellis (Mexico, NY) was second for the Knights with a 168 (80-88). Rob Wood (Westford, VT), Mike Sundstrom (New Haven, VT) and Mike Wiegand (New Hartford, NY) each topped 170 at the Invitational.
