Clarkson hockey programs ranked #2 in the nation

Posted

The start of the New Year has brought continued success for the Clarkson University Hockey teams, who are both enjoying lengthy winning streaks and ranked among the best in the nation. Clarkson is the only school in the NCAA boasting a pair of Division I hockey teams ranked among the Top 5 programs in the country by the national polls. Both teams also hold down first place in the ECAC Hockey standings.

With the second-longest current winning streak in the NCAA, and the third longest in the program's 96-year history at 14 games, the Clarkson Men are ranked their highest ever in the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls with the #2 spot, and are receiving first-place votes in both. The Green and Gold take an 18-3-1 overall record and a perfect 10-0-0 ECAC Hockey mark into this weekend's games at Cheel Arena against Harvard and Dartmouth. The University will be holding its annual "Teddy Bear Toss" on Saturday. Both games are 7:00 p.m. faceoffs. The Knights are 7-1 at Cheel this season.

Winners of eight straight, the Clarkson Women are tied for second in the USCHO.com poll. The Knights stand at 19-3-1 overall and 10-2 in ECAC Hockey play. The Green and Gold begin a four-game road trip this weekend playing in New England at Harvard and Dartmouth. Clarkson is 10-1-1 away from Potsdam this season.
