GENESEO, N.Y.—SUNY Geneseo (7-1, 3-0 SUNYAC) defeated the SUNY Potsdam women's basketball team (1-7, 0-3) 80-35 on Friday evening.
The Knights broke open a close game early with a sizeable run to end the first quarter and continued to pull away over the rest of the contest. Freshman guard Alexis Davis (Brooklyn, N.Y./Williamsburg H.S. Architecture and Design) led Potsdam with a career-high 13 points and three rebounds. Freshman guard Mikayla Horton (Hammond, N.Y./Hammond) scored six points, while sophomore guard Drew Dufrane (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) and senior forward Keme Fofana (Bronx, N.Y./AECI Charter High School) had five and four, respectively.
McKenna Brooks paced the Knights with 17 points and six rebounds. Sara Ciotti had 13 points and six assists. Madison McCulley scored nine points and Alyssa Lesakowski chipped in seven points and grabbed four boards.
Next, the Bears head to the College at Brockport for a 1 p.m. contest with the Golden Eagles tomorrow afternoon.
